Now that the submission for the European Podcast Award is closed we are happy to announce that we do have 750 submission from all over Europe. Well not quite – actually it is 749, but 750 sounds much better. ;)

Uptake in voting and submission

We where also very excited to see another boost of submissions over the last weeks as well as an uptake in voting for the podcasts. As mentioned before, voting is only one aspect of the award process, so after the voting is accounted for the jury can go to work and judge based on the given criteria to find the winner of the European Podcast awards.

During the Olympics we gave you an overview per country of how many submissions we already had, so here are the updated numbers, including some you will not find yet on country pages because they where submitted last minute and will be approved asap.

As to be expected the majority of podcasts comes from countries with a huge population, so rather than looking at the sheer numbers it is worth remembering how small or big a country is!

Have a look at some of the reactions

A quick search in Technorati as well as Google Blogsearch show some of the reactions throughout the podosphere and make you wish again that translation would be available with a press of a button. *sigh* On the same notion, we are still looking for suggestions on relevant local podcasting sites.- Don’t hesitate to add something, because even small suggestions are very helpful.

Next steps?

The submission is closed and the voting can be counted, the next steps are with the jury members who will judge the podcasts of the different countries. At the end of the month we will be able to announce the finalist and middle of November you will get to know the winner of the European Podcast Award!
